Kia ora. I am team leader and nurse with the Wellington Early Intervention Service and have been part of the team since it first started. I continue to really enjoy working in an EI service and very much value the optimism and creativity that my colleagues bring to the act (or art?!) of engaging with young people and their whanau. There is still always so much to learn and to respect about how any individual takes on the challenge of encountering psychosis for the first time.
I have also been a member of the NZEIPS executive for a number of years, including in the role of Treasurer for part of that time. I find it stimulating being part of a national group where the members are all passionate about early intervention in psychosis and want to ensure that effective and empowering services are available to all who might require them for some part of their lives.
I have lived in Wellington since arriving in Aotearoa over thirty years ago and see it very much as home. I love the range of art and cultural events I get to go to in this small city but I also take advantage of this country’s great outdoors and go tramping, cycling and running when I can.
